SSS and Post SSS Graduates
The training of local clergy continues to be the focus and priority of St. Hubert Seminary. Consequently, St. Hubert graduates are always encouraged to continue to pursue the noble vocation of the Catholic Priesthood. However, not everybody continues to the major seminary. At each terminal point, many seminarians change their minds. Usually, about forty 40% continue on to the one year Post SSS course after the Senior Secondary School certificate Examinations. And out of the 40%, a few seminarians drop out between the beginning of the Post SSS course and after the first year in the major seminary, leaving about 25 to 30% who are ordained as priests.
Ordinations
The year 2004 was a special blessing for the graduates of St. Hubert Seminary to the Archdiocese of Kumasi, Obuasi and Konongo-Mampong. Kumasi had 10 deacons ordained priests and all of them began at St. Hubert Seminary. Konongo-Mampong had nine, eight of whom began at St. Hubert. Obuasi had six, and all of them passed through St. Hubert Seminary. The total number of ordained priests who have passed through St. Hubert since its inception in 1970 is close to 180. It includes three Bishops, namely Most Rev. Peter Atuahene, Bishop of Goaso; Most Rev. Matthew Gyamfi, Bishop of Sunyani and Most Rev. Gabriel Justice Anokye, Auxiliary Bishop of Kumasi.
